PiezoWave 'ShockWave' Therapy in Albany, OR

Advanced Healing. Faster Recovery. Lasting Relief.

At Timber Linn Chiropractic, we believe healing should be precise, natural, and designed around the body’s ability to repair itself. That is why we offer PiezoWave Therapy as part of our specialized care options. PiezoWave is a cutting-edge therapy, using a non-invasive medical device called the PiezoWave2 for Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy (MyACT). The PiezoWave2 device is designed to accelerate healing, reduce pain, and restore mobility, without surgery or medication.

PiezoWave Therapy uses focused acoustic sound waves to target painful muscles, tendons, joints, scar tissue, trigger points, and areas of chronic soft tissue irritation. This non-invasive treatment is designed to increase circulation, reduce pain, support tissue repair, and help restore mobility when an injury has become stubborn, chronic, or slow to heal.

Whether you are dealing with a sports injury, chronic tendon pain, plantar fasciitis, shoulder pain, hip pain, elbow pain, or lingering soft tissue discomfort, PiezoWave Therapy may help your body move out of the pain cycle and back toward healing.

What Is 'MyACT' PiezoWave Therapy?

'MyACT' stands for Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy. This advanced therapy uses acoustic pressure waves to reach tissue at specific depths, creating a focused deep-tissue effect without surgery, injections, or anesthesia.

The PiezoWave2 device delivers thousands of high-energy sound wave impulses into the affected tissue. These impulses help stimulate the body’s natural repair response by encouraging increased blood flow, improved tissue metabolism, collagen production, and a healthy inflammatory response needed for healing.

Unlike traditional treatments that may only address surface-level discomfort, PiezoWave Therapy can reach deeper soft tissue structures and help identify exact areas of irritation, injury, and trigger point pain.

How PiezoWave Therapy Works

During treatment, focused sound waves are delivered directly into the painful or injured area. These pressure waves create a mechanical stimulation within the tissue, helping activate the body’s natural healing process.

PiezoWave Therapy may help:

  • Increase local circulation

  • Support collagen production

  • Reduce muscle tension

  • Improve mobility and range of motion

  • Stimulate tissue repair

  • Break up chronic soft tissue irritation

  • Calm trigger point pain

  • Support healing in tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints

Because the treatment is guided by patient feedback, we are able to locate very specific areas of pain and apply focused therapy where it is needed most.

Conditions PiezoWave Therapy May Help With

PiezoWave2 Therapy may be helpful for many acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, including:

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Heel pain or heel spurs

  • Achilles tendon pain

  • Tennis elbow

  • Golfer’s elbow

  • Shoulder tendon pain

  • Calcific shoulder tendinopathy

  • Hip pain

  • Greater trochanteric pain syndrome

  • Knee tendon pain

  • Shin splints

  • Stress-related soft tissue pain

  • Muscle trigger points

  • Myofascial pain syndrome

  • Chronic tendon irritation

  • Scar tissue discomfort

  • Sports injuries

  • Overuse injuries

  • Joint and soft tissue stiffness

If you have been dealing with pain that has not improved with rest, stretching, massage, chiropractic adjustments, or other conservative care, PiezoWave Therapy may be a strong next step.

Why Timber Linn Offers PiezoWave Therapy

For over 40 years, Timber Linn Chiropractic has helped patients in Albany & surrounding communities find natural solutions for pain, movement issues, and overall wellness.

PiezoWave Therapy fits our approach because it is precise, non-invasive, and designed to support the body’s own healing ability. It allows us to go beyond surface-level symptoms and address deeper soft tissue restrictions that may be contributing to pain, poor mobility, or recurring injury.

This treatment pairs well with Chiropractic Care, ArthroStim adjustments, The Zone Technique, cold laser therapy, PEMF therapy, and personalized wellness care.

What to Expect During Treatment

A typical PiezoWave session is quick and performed in-office. Most sessions take about 5 to 10 minutes per treatment area. During the session, focused pulse waves are delivered into the affected tissue. Patients may feel pressure, tapping, or tenderness over irritated areas, but the intensity can be adjusted based on comfort and tolerance.

Many patients notice improved movement or reduced pain quickly, while others experience gradual improvement over several sessions as tissue healing continues. Most care plans involve approximately 6 to 8 treatments, depending on the condition, tissue response, and individual goals.

Does PiezoWave Therapy Hurt?

PiezoWave Therapy is not an electric shock. It uses acoustic pressure waves.

Some areas may feel tender during treatment, especially if the tissue is already inflamed, injured, or sensitive. However, the intensity is adjustable, and treatment is guided by your feedback.

Many patients tolerate the therapy well and appreciate that it is quick, focused, and does not require downtime.

Will I Be Sore After Treatment?

Some patients experience mild soreness in the treated area within a few hours after treatment. This is usually temporary and may last from several hours to a couple of days.

Because PiezoWave Therapy is designed to create a healing response, patients are typically advised not to ice the area immediately after treatment unless instructed otherwise. Anti-inflammatory medications may also interfere with the desired inflammatory healing response, so our team will review aftercare recommendations with you based on your situation.

We generally recommend avoiding intense physical activity involving the treated area for about 48 hours after treatment.

How Is PiezoWave Different from Ultrasound?

PiezoWave Therapy is different from standard ultrasound because it does not rely on heat. Instead, it uses mechanical pressure waves that can reach targeted tissue depths and stimulate a healing response.

This makes PiezoWave especially useful for identifying and treating trigger points, chronic soft tissue irritation, tendon pain, and focal areas of musculoskeletal discomfort.

Is PiezoWave Therapy Safe?

PiezoWave Therapy is non-invasive and does not require anesthesia, injections, or surgery. It is performed as an outpatient treatment and typically involves little to no downtime.

However, PiezoWave Therapy is not appropriate for everyone. It may not be recommended for patients who are pregnant, taking blood-thinning medication, have blood clotting disorders, active infection, tumor tissue, certain heart or circulatory conditions, or areas involving lung tissue, the head, or brain.

Before beginning care, our team will review your health history and determine whether PiezoWave Therapy is appropriate for you.
